Carved of wood and stained a gentle brown that doesn't diminish the natural beauty of the wood's grain, it has been decorated with the design of leaves and foliage, forming two panels that unfold to create an "X" design.
This unfolded design creates two stable legs and an open v for your book to rest within. This v-shape allows the book's binding to settle without the strain placed upon it when it is laid flat upon a table, even as it is lifted several inches above the table or desk's surface.
